Alan Long

Alan is originally from Cincinnati, OH. In 2015, he graduated from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH with his BSE in chemical engineering. As an undergraduate, Alan worked in Professor Rohan Akolkar’s electrochemical engineering lab, studying the electrodeposition of eutectic Tin-Silver alloys for applications in Flip-Chip technologies in the microprocessor industry. Beginning his doctoral program in the fall of 2015, Alan now works with Professor William Green studying and modeling Methane oxidation under conditions pertinent to Natural Gas engines. As a member of the PhD CEP program at MIT, Alan is expected to graduate in 2020 with both his PhD and MBA.

Professionally, Alan worked two summer internships with the paper products division of Procter & Gamble as well as spending one summer with a start-up adhesives company, Bioformix (now Sirrus Chemistry). In his personal time, Alan enjoys playing basketball and softball as well as hiking and powerlifting.
